A registered trademark is a trademark that has been registered with official public bodies. Thanks to this deposit, it is protected from counterfeiting or non-compliant use of the mark in the eyes of the creator. In France, for example, the structure that deals with the registration of trademark applications is the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).
